Engage Global Health – Canada
Engage Global Health (EGH) works across Canada in partnership with First Nations communities, immigrant-serving organizations, and community agencies to strengthen health initiatives, build capacity, and improve equitable access to care.

First Nations Partnerships
EGH has worked with Montana First Nation (past engagement), providing advisory support and strategic planning for health programs and initiatives. Our work included grant writing, stakeholder engagement, and strengthening connections with key health system partners such as:
Alberta International Medical Graduates Association
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
We also trained case workers, managers, and directors using a population health approach, strengthening their capacity to support clients holistically.
Tallcree First Nation – Indigenous Primary Health Care Innovation Fund
EGH partnered with Tallcree First Nation on a successful application to Alberta’s Indigenous Primary Health Care Innovation Fund, a provincial program investing $20 million over two years to support more than 14 community-led health innovation projects.
Tallcree First Nation was selected as one of the recipients. The funded initiative represents a first-of-its-kind health innovation project in Tallcree, designed to strengthen access to culturally responsive primary care services within the community.
EGH provided:
Strategic advisory leadership
Grant development and proposal writing
Program design support
Implementation planning and systems guidance
The project is scheduled to open in April 2026, marking a major milestone in community-led health system innovation.
Clinical & Community Partnerships
Engage Global Health (EGH) partners with Compassion Wellness Medical Centre, a Family Practice in the Chappelle area of Edmonton, to advance public health priorities including women’s health, mental health, and community-based health education.
Dr. Setorme collaborates with EGH on selected health literacy sessions, supporting prevention-focused and culturally responsive community engagement.
Compassion Wellness Medical Centre provides comprehensive, patient-centered care across all ages, operating under a team-based Patient’s Medical Home model in collaboration with the Edmonton Southside Primary Care Network (ESPCN), with access to allied health professionals.
The clinic offers preventive, acute, and chronic care, virtual services, and select uninsured services, including employment medicals and non-invasive aesthetic treatments.
Immigrant & Refugee Health
EGH works closely with the Alberta Immigrant Women and Children Centre (AIWCC) to strengthen health equity for refugees and immigrant families.
Our work includes:
Grant writing and funding development (including awarded funding for health literacy and autism initiatives)
Delivery of culturally responsive health literacy programs
Didactic and interactive education sessions using trained translators
Ensuring health information is culturally and linguistically understood
Through stakeholder engagement, EGH identified and built partnerships with organizations such as Autism Edmonton, facilitating access to specialized education and support for families.
EGH is currently supporting the development of a new mental health grant aimed at increasing awareness and knowledge of mental health among clients, families, and communities.
Through health literacy sessions, EGH promotes preventive care practices, including:
Flu vaccination awareness
Vitamin D supplementation education
Physical activity and wellness promotion
Community Health & Capacity Building
EGH has worked with:
Action for Healthy Communities (Edmonton)
Africa Centre
Black Canadian Women in Action
Our engagements include:
Health literacy programming for clients
Training case workers to improve client support
Grant development and advisory services
Mentorship initiatives for youth and young women
Across Canada, EGH strengthens organizations through leadership mentorship, strategic planning, grant development, and culturally responsive health programming.
